Born at 344 days gestation weighing 7.8kg Artisan came into the world very fast, we had been in the field on cria watch. Mum Saffron walked away from the herd and as she turned around she already had the head and legs out, the whole process took less than 5 mins. we managed to sit back and video the process as mum Saffron was a pro, we were so relieved that our first birth at Lythe Brow had gone so smoothly. Artisan is a sweet inquisitive and independent baby who is full of mischief (very like his big sister Caitlyn) he is always the one who instigates play time. He is concentrating on growing big and strong and has put on a very impressive 5kg in the first 2 weeks.
